Marina dam...why call it Marina barrage ?

To create a fresh water reservoir, a dam was built across the river
mouth.

Why it is called "the Marina barrage".

Definition of 'barrage':
"An artificial obstruction, built in a watercourse.... to increase its
depth or to divert its flow.

Definition of 'Dam' :
"A barrier constructed across a waterway....A body of water controlled
by such a barrier."
