The PAP's educational system has created a social phenomena that makes
living in Sinkapore a living hell! Given a choice, many students in
Sinkapore will rather leave and study elsewhere.
This kind of environment only create textbook merchants, textbook
teachers and textbook students. Lost is the excellence in
entrepreneurship, creative thinking, innovation and real live survival
skills (not the CMPB type) of the citizens. No wonder we have many
technocrats in stat boards and in ministries that cannot react to
global economic and political changes - they all need a textbook case
study to find a solution to any problem.

There are a lot of changes to the education system in Singapore, students do not
just restricted to Cambridge "O" and "A" level examinations. Some students are
taking international Baccalaureate Diploma instead of "A" level examination.
Some school students have done away the "O" level examination. NUS secondary has
even replaced the Pre-U examination with their own diploma. Many technocrats in
stats boards and ministries are grduates from overseas universities, many from
not only UK but also US universities.

In the words of one USA lawyer who met LHL years ago, he analyze LHL
as "One who do not know good spontaneous response to an un-coached
real time problem that has been thrown onto his path. He can only
regurgitate issues and analysis thereof that have been already
presented to him for memorization. Only then he will sound credible.
The world of global politics and global economics are so unpredictable
that it is unfortunate that Singapore's leadership rests on the hands
of this kind of character profile."

He studied at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Degree in
Mathematics and a Diploma in Computer Science. He also obtained a Masters in
Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
