Now that Malaysia is moving seriously into tidying up their judicial
appointments to ensure that the best man is chosen for the job, when
will Singapore set up an independent commission to appoint judges ?
Presently judges are appointed for a short term of a few years by
the Prime Ministers. In order words all Singapore judges are political
appointees. That means they cannot be independent as their tenors
in office are subjected to the whims and fancies of the pap government.
This sad state of affairs cannot continue especially if Singapore wants
to be seriously viewed as a first world order.
