Re: Singlish is Fun.

I thought "Bushish" (your kweh-lauh-peh) is more fun?

It has been proven useless to attack our local Singlish, where it is
celebrated here and jokes and fun were borne out of it. Perhaps you knew
of only one Victorian English, and its depth could only be enjoyed by a
very few elites.

Try eating just plain rice without any other ingredients added into
it-that is bland.

Sometimes ago, our Singlish were despised by school teachers because, of
their zealousness in promoting Good English.

Without the blend of our local dialects injected into English, what Plays,
what Drama and what Shows induce our laughter and fun?

Having said that, does it mean for academic purposes are we to use
Singlish?

I remember my child had scored distinction in English during academic
formal Examination, but. Hand phones SMSes were all filled with Singlish
and broken English messages then.

Singlish is our local flavour, and it adds spice to life. It is fun. It is
our language evolution. Those who despised it seem to be truly behind
time.
