snaky, snaky

An Indian from an institution named after an Indian and run by an
Indian led a survey on racial matters and the Chinese turned out worse
while the Indian turned out best among the three major races here.

What stood out in this survey is that Chinese-majority Singapore can
accept a non-Chinese PM. The Indian-run TODAY followed with letters
to the paper hoping for a non-Chinese PM. Before this, TODAY had run
articles comparing the Indian Minister Tharman with two Chinese
Ministers. One was between Tharman and Ng Eng Hen. No guessing
required, you know who turned out better. More recently, there was one
between Tharman and Khaw Boon Wan. On the surface, it looked quite
balanced. But the analysis noted that Khaw would like to resign from
politics. So, Tharman still turned out a more suitable candidate for
PM. Something snaky is going on and it is getting obvious. Indians in
positions of influence are trying to promote an Indian to be the next
PM. Not satisfied with an Indian President, they want Singapore to be
run by an Indian PM too.

This could happen. Nathan basically staged a one-man presidential coup
to extend his presidency into the second term. He announced his
candidancy without consulting his cabinet colleagues. Then TODAY went
on full steam to support him with headlines screaming for him as " the
people's choice " , "the people's President". What was his
motivation of seeking a second term? The sequence of events preceding
it would tell us something. Initially, he had given up on re-running
with "Look, I am already 81 years old". Then he threw in his hat on
the day NKF's Durai decided to give up his fight in court. Nathan saw
this as the downing of an Indian chief and he wanted to be around to
promote more Indian chiefs. More sinister than this, he realised that
during his first tenure, the number of Indians in Singapore had
increased by leaps and bounds and he wanted to see it continued. One
of the first thing he did in his second term was to replace members of
the Presidential Advisory Council with his supporters. If he decides
to run for president for another term, the Council will not advise
against it and the Indian-controlled media would go full swing to
support him. This could go on and on and Nathan would become President
for live. Singapore would end up with an Indian President and Indian
PM. When that happen, the door will be opened for the Indian hordes to
charge in until they become the majority. All these while, you would
have cunning Indians crying as victims of racism and talking about one
people, one humanity.

The English language media here is very anti-Chinese. Take the case of
the Presidency. When Ong Teng Cheong was President, there were so many
letters in the press criticising his Presidency and prodded him to
take on the government. Poor chap did just that and jeopardised his
chance of another term in office. Nathan's Presidency is without any
criticism all these years. Isn't this fishy? The media always
stereotype Chinese negatively. TV used a half-breed to portray a
coarse Chinese contractor Phua Chu Kang always digging his ears. Now
there is another TV serial depicting a Chinese who always dig his
nose. Damn it why not an Indian who stinks ? This would be more to
the truth. The Mainland Chinese here has it worse. They mostly make the
news as criminals or prostitutes. The Straits Times recruited Ching
Cheong to tell the world that there really is a Ching Cheong Chinaman.
They sent him on a mission to spy on China, laughing at his back about
a Ching Cheong Chinaman spying on China. When he was caught, nothing
happened to those who sent him. It is no wonder that those Mainland
Chinese who come here to study never stay on. Indians, local or from
India are always portrayed positively, even chauvinistically. That is
why they stay on. The English language media is making all effort to
help in decreasing the number of Chinese and increasing the number of
Indians here. Indians can swagger in and out of Singapore as if they
own this place. Take the case of the soccer coach Vincent. When he
decided to leave Singapore for India, he talked down on Singapore as
if it is a god-foresaken place. When things did not turn out well for
him in his beloved India, he came back to Singapore and readily found
his way back as a soccer coach. Another case is the lawyer Ravi. He
once scolded a judge in court and when warned for possible contempt
against the court, he curtly replied that he would be flying to
Australia as a PR. He too is back.

Indians are even well protected here. The Indian Navy is present in
Singapore. It was so difficult to get rid of the Malaysian Navy. We
knew that during the May1969 racial riot in KL, the Malay soldiers
took the side of the Malays. When there is a racial riot involving
Indians, what is there to stop those Indian sailors to come ashore to
help their own kind? This is courting trouble. The population growth
of India is out of control. It is going to exceed that of China but
India has only half the territory of China. The Indians are going to
die en-masse or they are going to break out en-masse. When India has
the military might, it would choose the latter for its people.

The Chinese better wake up, stop talking nonsense like "race is not
scientific" which really misses the point. Which aspect of humanity is
scientific? Is nationality scientific? Does this nation of Singapore,
or for that matter any nation, come about according to some
scientific principles or theories?. Is religion scientific? People are
willing to sacrifice their lives for it, blowing themselves into bits
to die for it.

Expressing fear for the sinicisation of Singapore should be taken as
anti-Chinese racism because it refused to accept the reality of a
Chinese-majority Singapore. Things are getting worse for the Chinese.
The racial mix in Singapore has increased at the expense of the
Chinese. Posters for major events are even depicting Chinese as the
minority. Examples are those that appeared during the World Bank/IMF
meeting that was held here. This is dangerous. It is ethnic cleansing
of the Chinese, symbolically now, but it could serve as an
encouragement to turn it into physical reality in future. Even
National Day posters are turning out this way. The NDP is also showing
Chinese as minority. Right after the parade this year, TODAY ran an
article with the headline "Look who is the minority now?". It was
reflecting on the parade the day before but in its usual snaky way,
the content was about Hispanics in the US.

The government is afraid to show the world, especially its American
overlord, that Singapore has racial problem. Any multiracial country
would have racial problem. As the racial mix increases so will the
potential for racial conflicts. No one knows this better than the
American. It has experienced conflicts between Blacks, White,
Hispanics, Koreans...The Americans had experienced it for a long time
now. The British and the Australian are newly experiencing it. It all
look peaceful and calm For Singapore now. While the founder LKY who is
renowned for his combativeness is still around, no one would challenge
the government on racial policies. What will happen when he is gone?
Yugoslavia was torn apart by bloody racial conflicts after its
strongman Tito was gone. Will this be Singapore's fate? Will the "tiny
red dot" turn bloody red?
