Why get married? - it is a idea thta is commercialised so much that evry
young person after attaining from age of 22 wants to find a partner to get
married - simply to get over with the peer pressure - either from friends
and commerical advertising for wedding businesses. But many does not
seriously want to be tied down or be married if they could avoid th peer
pressure of getting themselves to be "married" or "married off" .

Don't forget, the pressure from the government,
propaganda and SDF...
Also overwhelmingly powerful are the dictates of customs,
traditions and religion. In an Asian society, to live together
as unmarried couple, is to live in sin......One must have kids
to support us and to live with us in our sunset years.

All, a load of bullshit from the past.
It would be more sinful to get divorced,....and to
leave kids without the love of fathers or mothers.
Now, it is a trend to leave the old folks and set
up separate homes once a couple get married,
so companionship from kids in sunset years is
nonsense.

..................Seriously
many are not ready to be married and many in fact does not have a
sustainable means of maintaining the financial health required in the
marriage and even the raising of children, etc.

Yes. Very true....
In fact, financial problems is one of the major cause
of divorces.
It is stupid ...why get married knowing that their marriage
will end in failure !

............................The problem is because
Singapore does not provide nor give the assurance of looking after the
needs
and priorities of Singaporeans oncsidering they have said many times the
important of caring of our citizens first since they are important as they
needa a large numbers of its own people to man and to defend the couuntry
even as more cheap labour from Philippines nad india came to replace their
jobs because the market is not willing to pay higher pay to jobs were
oce-held by Singaporeans.

21,962 (10,982 couples) persons got married in Singapore.
In the same year, 6,293 persons got divorce...and an
estimated 6,000 persons got separated.

In stats terms, the number divorces in three years is almost equal
to the number of marriages in one year.
It is almost certain that most marriage in end in divorce in 9 years.

If marriages will end in divorce why get married?
