Are you so lacking in perspective to think that there's no peace and
progress in Taiwan just because of a few ugly scenes you saw on TV?

Yes. There is peace in Taiwan. Having peace, like in
Myanmar, does not prove anything.

As for progress, I am doubtful. Just to name
a few glaring problems ...
-- the large scale relocations of factories
from Taiwan to other countries
-- the high unemployment rates especially among
graduates
-- corruption becoming rampant, in high places,
involving the immediate family of the Presidents
-- government spending trillions (US dollars) to
buy WWII and Vietnam war vintage weapon
fighter jets and ship, discarded by the USA
-- Taiwan foreign reserves, one of the highest in
the world not long ago, has fallen sharply
-- Taiwanese businessmen pulling out investments
in Taiwan to invest overseas, in China and India.
-- Mobsters and underworld bosses are "elected"
law makers in parliament.

Is this what you called progress in Taiwan ?
