Yes, they are banned....they are many Muslims gambling
in Genting alright.

PPP: I have been to Genting only once. The rule is strictly enforced.
I produced my passport to gain entry and to be exempted from paying a
cash deposit. My camera was impounded. A local would have to produce
an ID card. A Malay name would send out alarms immediately. A
Malaysian Malay would probably be taken to an interrogation room and
given the third degree for trying to gain entry. He/she is free to
enjoy all other non gambling Genting facilities. Earlier discussions
on Singapore casino rules included the presentation of IDs at the door
to exclude "unqualified" Singaporeans. No surprise there.

The operators would lose their licence otherwise. The violator could
also face the fury of the Islamic and the civil courts.

I find casinos and gambling extremely boring. And why would anyone
throw away hard earned dollars. I go to N American casinos only
because of the "All you can Eat" restaurants and I am a big eater. I
go for the fish (and plenty of veggies) that are quite pricey and
often not done well if ordered ala carte. But after three meals in as
many days, that's the limit.
