I have been raising this issue several times :
Why have any immigration checks at the causeway?
Almost all who cross in both directions will return to their respective
country within the next few days - as much as 99%.
For those who do not return to their respective country they either fly off
to a third country or simply settle down.
Those who fly off are immigration checked in any case and those who settle
down in the respective neighboring country will have to surface some time by
applying for residence, wages, social security, employment, medical, etc and
when they do so they will have to account for third presence.
Very small percentage less than .0001pct would take the road or train out of
Malaysia to Thailand.
Why institute the checks at our border?
Discarding these immigration checks on people travel will save millions of
dollars.
