A chemistry equation

We took the crystal of copper sulphate. Then we dropped it into a
beaker of water. It turned into a blue solution.
This is a chemistry equation. It is the hydration of copper sulphate
crystals into an aqueous solution of copper and sulphate ions.
There is an application for this that we also did and it was very fun.
We put two copper wires in and joined their other ends to a battery.
The negative end was fixed to a copper coin and after a while it turned
shiny because it was electroplated.
Today we may be drinking such things because of Newater. But maybe not.
Hopefuly not. But the copper and sulphate ions have to go somewhere.
Hope it doesn't end up in our stomachs. Let's ask Prof what he thinks.
