Which side of which part of the Thames ?
Who owns the big dish farm at the side of the Thames ?
Tracksat.com shows :-
Arqiva Docklands Teleport
Pier Road North Woolwich
London
E16 2JJ
It'd be that one. I used to see it when I visited our unit
down there (used to be Royal Arsenal Co-operative).
From memory, it was almost as big as the Astra farmin Luxembourg which I've passed many times.
(it's at the side of the motorway).
Woolwich station and the wok farm is over to the left a bit. It looks
they they might have been breeding between the time the aerial photo
was done and when the camera car drove past.
Charles, that reminded me of a boss I had many years ago who even more
years before would tell how during WWII he would go to work at STC
Woolwich, long before the buy-out by ITT, by bicycle using the Woolwich
foot tunnel.
He would carry his bike down the stairs, don't know if he cycled along the
tunnel and then carried his bike up the stairs on the other side.
He was a great old codger who had been responsible/involved in developing
and installing the first undersea cable between UK/France after the
landings. A two of four channel carrier system, probably two channel....
