In Scotland BBC anti independence propaganda has reached such
blatant
proportions that even the Brit Nats admit it. You have to be
here, literally, because they won't allow people outside Scotland to
access Scottish news.

Paranoid nonsense, Chic. You can receive all the BBC and ITV regions
on
satellite TV. When STV dropped a couple of my wife's favourite
networked
programmes in favour of locally produced (i.e. cheaper) dross, she
simply watched them on ITV London.

I won't invoke McGodwin's rule but your use of the P word must be some
kind of record.

You lied. You lose.

Note this thread is about BBC. STV/ITV are still available on line.

And all the BBC's regional radio and TV broadcasts are free-to-air to
anyone within the footprint of the Astra(?) satellite. Your claim that
"they won't allow people outside Scotland to access Scottish news" is
paranoid nonsense. So there! (And who are 'they', anyway?)

All politicians always claim that the BBC is biased against them whatever
party they are from - though in this case I think Chic may have a point as
to the Nats not getting a fair deal. However you are right in that the
idea that Reporting Scotland is not on I-Player because they don't want
those outwith Scotland to see it is a bit over the top in the conspiracy
theory stakes. It would make sense if all the other UK equivilent
programmes were on there but I've just checked and certainly at the moment
none of them are. For those outwith the UK! On BBC1 we get a UK wide main
news at 6PM which lasts for about 30 minutes which is then followed by the
weather than a 25 minute news programme more aimed at the specific nations
and regions. In Scotland we get Reporting Scotland whilst Wales and
Northern Ireland have their equivilents as do the English regions. For
instance there is Look North (for northern England) there is Look East for
East Anglia and the London News for London etc etc etc. None of these
non-UK wide news programmes are on I-Player. So people in Norwich can't
see what is happening in the Scottish show but neither can people in
Scotland see what is happening in East Anglia. There are only so many
shows on I-Player! There is some Scottish news content on it though as
both Newsnight Scotland and Scotland at Ten are on at the moment.

Allan
Almost right. Allan, BBC NEWS24 does not cut to local area news but shows
London News.
All BBC local channels are on BSkyB

FreeSat acksherly. The Beeb threw of Uncle Rupert's shackles a few
years ago but that hasn't stopped him and his newspaper allies
implying that you need to pay him to see the BBC. IIRC the only
dependancy now on $ky is with the uplink to the Astra satellite.

so every area can view every other area.
However, the political coverage of Scottish news is very much biased in
favour of Labour.
Just witness the past few weeks. The so called Lunchgate was not only wall
to wall coverage but they also slanted it unfairly.
They also had panalists debating the matter and had such as Donald Findley
and oposition party members but no SNP input.
Then we had lettergate wall to wall and the same slanted output.
In both cases the SNP were found to be very much not guilty of breacing any
rules. Consider also that Labour MPs, including Gordon Brown had done worse
and the East Lothian Labour Party have been using council property to raise
Labour Party funds with not a peep from the BEEB.

Now consider the almost non-existent reports of the Steven Purcell affair,
the total absence of condemnation of other Glasgow Labour members who
obviously must have known the guy not only was a junkie but had links to
Glasgow Crime lords. I did a Google on, "Salmond Accused", and found many
thousands of hits all beginning. "***** accused Salmond of... ... ... ".. I
then Googled , "Scottish Labour accused", and got many thousands of hits
that were along the lines of, "Scottish Labour accuse Salmond of ... ... ...
... " It's pretty obvious just how the news is slanted. Not that while the
Steven Purcell thing has been running the BEEB is running other non-events
as news. The whole BBC thing is a real scandal.
