Hands up those that have a small economical car? Those
that take the
bus when they can?
Those that cycle to work (if they work of course)? Who
owns a dog or
cat? Do you know your carbon footprint for the day? So
if
you cycle,
have no pets, don't fly anywhere on holiday, don't use
a
PC (it too
has a nasty carbon footprint), and heat your house
with
renewable
energy then you pass with flying colours.
I don't give a flying f**** (but I do have a small car
since petrol
prices are so high). I wanna go for an electric car
since
it will have
zero emissions (just to reduce pollution). Even if we
all
did these
things then would it make any real difference to
global
so-called
warming? We would still have plenty of dirty diesel
lorries,trains,planes... The electricity for charging
my
car still has
to come from somewhere and it would be significant if
we
all went
electric.

When all said and done, *people* produce waste
emissions
directly or indirectly.
If we have fewer people, we will have fewer emissions.
*This* is called "logic".
And no more need be said.
Q. E. D.
So if I go out and cap a few will I get a carbon credit
to
trade for a
tax reduction?
Alas no, because the decomposition of the corpse produces
CO2 and other gases.
A better solution is to drag young men off the streets &
give 'em the Big Snip. For young women there is a very
effective tube ligature process. Capping people tends
to
piss off their relatives and wastes police time.
I think you'll find that the carbon dioxide and methane
from
decomposition comes not where near the footprint of nearly
one ton of CO2
exhaled by the average human in just one year, the
methane, of course, is
diet dependent, but likely also exceeds in one year the
amount from
decomp.
The Chinese one-child policy has prevented the birth of
millions since about 1980 and demonstrates what can be done
with the right resolve.
India and Africa are at crisis point with their populations.
I can't think of a cleaner or more efficient way of fixing
most of the world's ills.
Good luck selling that idea. Asia and Africa are rapidly out-growing
their potable water supply. As near as I can find, China's one child
policy didn't even make a blip on their growth curve, it must have been
out done by a drop in the death rate. Lord knows where they'd have been
if Mao hadn't killed 75 million.

with many such problems. Like if there is not enough food there will be
starvation and if no water dehydration. Then there is this CO2 thing,
strange thing is plants thrive on it. So there will be a growth in plant
that will help a bit to grow food. Then there is this Global warming thing,
now don't expect everywhere to just get warmer 'cos it doesn't work that
way. Some bits will get warmer but some will get colder and before then the
air and water currents will change where they come from and go to. Then,
again, as the seas rise and continue to warm there will be more evaporation
and more precipitation so the water shortage is not a simple matter either.
So more water and more CO2 means more vegetation but other places will be
dry and hot. Perhaps all the doom merchants are not getting things as right
as they think they are.
