Is your brother a Chef?
(I could get lobster if I went to my brother's as well:
he would pack me into that deathtrap of his - after
taking two hours to dress himself, that is - and drive
us to Inverness, where he'd pay £50 a plate for it.)
You know, it's funny: try to order Venison or Salmon
in many US restaurants and you'll be disappointed...
(Another odd Atlantic Divide exists over Ice. I've never
been a big Ice User myself, preferring the drink to be
cold rather than simultaneously chilled and watered by
the addition of ice. But many Americans are shocked
when in Scotland, that they don't get glasses filled with
ice everywhere they go - and that when they ask for it,
the waiter will frequently give them a glass with three
or four cubes floating lazily about the top. Fortunately,
they tend to complain about it loudly so that everyone
in the place becomes aware of the problem, and thus
International Incidents can be kept to a minimum...)
