Not by the numbers I find, it isn't.
Men Women
Scotland 74.9 79.9
United States 75.6 80.8
Canada 78.3 82.9
Figures are for 2007
Most of those in the 60-80 year age range were children at a
time when Scotland was still fighting the scourge of rickets...
it wasn't until every child received free milk at school (starting
in the early fifties I believe and running until Thatcher the Milk
Snatcher's regime) that the incidence of the disease started
dropping.
City children (with limited sunlight) prior to the 1950s could
easily have grown into adults with Vitamin deficiency issues
that would shorten their lifespans fifty years later and skew
the statistics.

What made the difference to the poverty driven scourge of Rickets was what
Hamish Imlach sang about, "Yer Cod Liver Oil & Yer Orange Juice". -

While you are there on YouTube try some of Hamish's other ditties. Hamish
used to do the regular Scottish Folk Singer scene that threw up such as
Billy Connolly who was, at that time, a banjo player with a group called,
"The Humblebums".
Enjoy!
