Amazing and ver' sad.
My first degree revolved around "hermeneutics", buggered if I see

I agree with their statement. Technologically unsophisticated is
probably right.
Nothing personal but with a few exceptions using a pc is a whole lot
different from technological design, mathematical modeling and such
like. Many people nowadays feel they are tech savvy because they can
click a mouse. Many kids at school believe this but get a shock in
first year at Uni.
