Exactly. It is the selfish option. It gives 30 years of cheap power and
leaves our descendents with a 10,000 year clean-up bill.
10,000? You'll be lucky - 80,000 minimum.
Let us hope we can come up with a solution for this problem. I'm assuming
human ingenuity will win through in the end. Unless we decide to have WW3
after all.
If humans had the ingenuity we would get rid of the filthy dinosaur nuclear
industry and develop modern systems of power generation.
We don't need it or it's intractable problems.
