Re: Anybody tried Windows 7?

A computer is too important to me now to leave it to
consultants to build & repair. I had to jump thru hoops to
fix the last disaster which was a failed power supply frying
the HDD control card. My plan is to have two separate
computers linked together if necessary with a LAN cable.
Then when one fails or falters I can use the other.

It's not that hard to do. I just put one together. This
post is
coming to you from the inside of my (now almost) brand new
Core i7
Extreme box running Windows Vista Ultimate.

You know, Vista really isn't all that bad if you stuff
enough hardware
under it (Core i7 Extreme, Nvidia GeForce GTX 280, 6 GB
DDR3 RAM, and
a pair of Velociraptors for the system drive, 30" flat
panel).

It acts just like the ones you see on TV, where everything
just sort
of happens instantly. Even Internet Explorer seems
downright snappy.
