Islands are not suitable - no neighbouring states to invade.

Other than that the complete annihilation of the entire Middle East (once
we've extracted all their oil of course) is the only way.

Personally I would prefer the latter. Would it were only possible to
invent a bomb that only vaporised people and didn't destroy oilfields and
infrastructure. God-willing someone will come up with one soon.

As I recall, it's a "Dirty Bomb" designed to emit vast amounts of shorted
lived radiation.
It kills all life but preserves the infrastructure.

Yeah - the fusion bomb isn't it - but none have been perfected as yet last I
heard. Too small and still make a mess.
Even better would be a religion-specific bomb. Everyone that's got it, gets
it - as it were.
We might then get just a few years of peace before we came up with a new
ridiculous reason to hate and massacre each other.
