Are you suggesting that in the UK several credit hours are given over to
studying the finer points of the Cherokee experience?

Not 'the finer points' but I was certainly taught about the evil Jackson
and his double-crossing and 'The Trail of Tears' of the Cherokees and
stuff like that for sure. Weren't you? TBH I think I might have picked up
the 'Jackson County' thing myself in later years.

But for those not given a proper British education, the removal of the
Cherokees to Oklahoma ranks high among the atrocities done by man to men.
The Americans wanted the Cherokees out of Georgia, North Carolina, and
Tennessee, and out they went.
