Enjoying themselves? I have two jobs, and am still wondering what more
I can do to 'survive' financially. I'd taken an early retirement a
couple of years ago (in order to recover from a 'workman's comp'
disability) and found I couldn't afford it. I babysit my grandson every
Friday. I offered to take care of him, full-time, so that he'd not have
to be 'farmed out' to day-care, but my daughter-in-law felt the social
interaction with other kids was important. (Don't even get me started
on that subject)........
I get newsletters from the American Association For Retired Persons
(AARP) and they often feature stories about more and more grandparents
all the time, having total custody of their grandchildren, and raising
them as if they were their own children. This is often because the
parents are unfit, for one reason or another.
