That must be a very old word indeed. I checked cattle in Sanskit -P can change B, and B to V.
pasú - no hint of a relationship there.
'Pasu' may be related to 'beast'/'bestial'.
'Beast' may be related to 'vieh'.

Europeans were herdsmen for millennia, Gaels included. Viemeister is a
word you will be highly familiar with - Buchaille, so you are:
