Ever have a horrible week. I'm having one and today I am having a day
away from the world as Western Islesmen call the Sabbath. It isn't the
Sabbath in reality; it's Thursday, but it will do.
You are always at your best when you're feeling miserable.
The singer and the songs are exquisite...
Thank you...
This week has had its ups and downs for me as well, they say misery
loves a companion.
MacP, consider yourself accompanied..

Can I join in? My worst week was last week (Tuesday 9:50 AM to be
precise) but the current one isn't so great either. I wasn't going to
post dad's obituary but after a bit of "Dutch courage (stupidity?)" here
goes. From the Washington Post:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/21/AR2006032101921.html
I know so well how you try to slow time so you have space and time to
take it all in and actually "grasp" what's happening.
Yet so much blurs past too quickly, so you do the things that you hope
will slow the passing; the obituary, the funeral service, a small
speech to try to capture what he meant to you and let the listeners
know and feel the loss.
Yet despite all that our society has done to help us cope with loss,
all you really want is to howl and be cuddled so you know someone
truly cares.
You're not on your own. All of us who have been there truly care. We
all know the secret that helps us get over it - time, which heals all.
The healing begins the moment you remember some silly incident that
involved both of you and you burst into spontaneous laughter.
However, you will always cry a little more eaily from now on and when
someone else is in pain from a sudden loss, you will share the pain
and the emotion.
