Wow - we havn't had anyone in here as utterly ignorant as you in years.
You really believe that 'England supports Scotland'
LOL
Stick around and you might learn something.

"Scots get 600 pounds more per head than the English"
Telegraph

It's up to over a 1000 pounds now. Please explain *that*.

OTOH you can try and explain how you think that a tiny section of
one country with a tiny population can possibly send enough money to
The Treasury to support a
a part of the country with 6 times the population.

I'll ask *you*, I have in 10 years never managed to get an answer
from any other *cot
and please leave out "Block grants" and "The Barnett Formula" drivel.
I want the
amount in pounds and pence. How much does *cotland send to The
National
Treasury and how much does it receive back. Ta.

I'll perhaps consider doing that after you come up with the answers to the
questions I have been asking you. Then you may like to consider this little
fact - Scotland's Gross Domestic Product is higher than that of England. Now
GDP, as its known, is actually a measure of the per capita earnings of a
country. So whether you like it or not that means the average earnings of
Scotland per head of population is greater than England. That means we are
actually contributing more per person than the English yet our average
weekly income is less than that of England. I'll try and put that more
simply for you. The total money that goes to the treasury from Scotland
divided by the total number of people in Scotland is higher than the total
money put into the treasury per head of population in England. Now no one
doubt that you are correct when you state that England has a far larger
population for that really is not the point for if you had thought about it
you would have known that because the population is greater then the total
spending to maintain them will be greater by the same factor. There is only
one true way to get a correct figure of what each country gets and gives.
You must work out the GDP of each country and then calculate what that puts
into the coffers. Then you add up all the things each country costs the
United Kingdom and take one figure from the other. Guess what - after doing
this calculation Scotland pays in a great deal more than she gets out.Just
who do you think pays for all those domes, wheels, palaces, undergrounds,
transport systems, Household Cavalry, Air terminals, exhibition centres, et
al. The answer is the entire UK. Strange is it not that every time they
build a bridge over the Thames it is free but when they build a bridge in
Scotland we have to pay tolls? Then also consider that if Scotland decides
to modernise Edinburgh Waverley Station that this is funded only with money
from the Scottish Block grant. Now perhaps you may get a tiny inkling of why
I have asked you so often if you knew how and what the Barnett Formula is?

Take a little advice from one who has been looking into these matters for
around 60 years and gaining a little more information as the time went by.
Believe me the system is made to be complex in order to hide the true facts.
I really have to thank such as you for the platform that allows the truth to
be brought out into the light of day.

Have you not noticed that you have made claims of this that and the other
but you have never explained any of your claims while we have given you the
truth AND explained the reason why we are making the claims?

It just does not wash to make a daft claim that some idiot has told you
unless you can figure out what it all means.
