I did Felixstowe to Zeebrugge and Hull to Zeebrugge the first couple of
times I went. Since then its been the tunnel. They are very good at letting
you on an alternative train.
When we first went some of the camping companies only allowed 7, 10 or 14
nights so if I scuttered about I couldn't get a fortnight.
I went home from work on Friday, had an hour in bed, left around 8pm, drove
most of the night with a couple of stops in service stations, crossed via
the tunnel around 6am then drove to a campsite. Usually I did around 1000
miles in 21-22 hours as I said earlier. I think the time we went to the
Loire valley it was over 1100 miles.
This meant by tea time on Saturday I could put my feet up and have a full
fortnight in the sun.
