I bought the caravan to explore Scotland. Prior to that I tended to do the
Eurocamp thing in France. We've been about 7 times. I can only get a
fortnight off in the summer and its a long way to Europe from here. With
Eurocamp I used to do over 1000 miles in about 22 hours. My children grew to
dislike the journey so much that I stopped. Its different with the van
though. With a slower pace and regular stops the journey becomes part of the
holiday, rather than something to be endured.

I must admit I'm actually quite happy with my lot. However when I see
youngsters nowadays for whom travelling appears to be the norm I wish I'd
had a chance to take a year off with a backpack.

We still may have the chance when our youngest two are a bit older to do the
caravanning bit.

I just bought a Navman 510 Satnav. Going back to Europe would give me an
excuse to buy the European maps as well as the UK ones!
