Yes, especially in the Rockies. As I;m sure you knowm going up is like
going north and when my kids were small, I once walked them up a
mountain to see a ppace Ipd found which looked exacly like Scotland,
even to the vegetation - that is until we turned a corner and came
upon four grizzly bears feeding on a dead deer. A ranger cane by and
give us a lift out.
I also know a hill in Washington State that looks exactly like part of
the battlefield at Hastings in England. I haven't driven past it for
some years now, but I always had an instantaneous sensation of
deja-vu.
