I suppose I am. I have been accused of not trusting my government in
the past. An accusation I can live with. I'll go ahead and open it out
into not trusting anybody's government over an issue with this deadly a
potential. Whether that potential is accidental or deliberate makes
little difference to me. Layman that I am.

Our family's Three-Mile-Island Evacuation Plan was to leave all our
possessions and squeeze into my dad's small Piper Cherokee. We would
fly south to the Carolinas to stay with relatives. We were convinced at
one point we would have to do it. We lived much closer to the the
Forked River Nuclear Power station which we were all given school-kid
tours of and the Naval Weapons Station Earle ( which no one was allowed
near). At the time we believed we dwelt at the heart of impending
disaster.

Dad had a geiger counter and would sometimes take it out and do
readings with it just for fun. He had some older avionics that had
radioactive dials. I think they were radium dials. He would point the
counter at them, it would click wildly and he would explain to us
chilluns that no one was ever to touch them. He explained that if Three
Mile Island went, we'd all click as fast as the radium dials if not
faster.

Ah, happy childhood memories.
