An SCR poster called MTRP is still on the loose in Bavaria, southern
Germany, nearly four days after hopping out of his pen.
Police, firefighters, two vets and the owner have been searching the
town of Erlangen for the usenet nitwit.
It is not the first time MTRP has jumped to freedom. He went on a
similar adventure about a week ago, but then decided to return home to
Veitsbronn.
Experts say escaped usenet posters can live a long time in the wild,
eating grass.
But the head of the Nuremberg Zoo, Dag Encke, said MTRP was probably
feeling stressed "because he's alone and being pursued," the German news
agency DPA reported.
MTRP, 50 centimetres (19.5 inches) tall and 115 years old, was last
seen in a firm's courtyard, but slipped away before his pursuers could reach
him.
The owner, a German university, said they thought MTRP was unlikely to
reappear in daylight, but was probably "having a rest under a tree".
