Title: is that believable? No: 452 of 457

Timmay says: "According to the best scientific evidence, (and of
course it is theory based on a preponderance of evidence from
astronomy, physics and many other disiplines, so not gospel, but most
likely) the Universe did come into existence,"... "However, the
indication is that existence itself did not exist prior to then. Talk
about miracles!" It seems (by logic it is) imposable, thus i tend to
dismiss it, of course thats no grounds to disprove miracles. But then
maybee thats the grounds to modify many things. The experts also have
formulas that tell of parrallell universes and the idea of time travel
(and yes they say we never could without bieng torn into micro
whatevers). Perhaps its more likely a variable is missing in their
equitions than it is that the above startreck world exist. Or maybee
not, thats just how it seems to me. I do believe in the big bang... ive
been lectured on it soom what, in no way though do i know as much as
you.

fdgsr says: Timmay,
What came first, the chicken or the chicken egg? What came first, the
Sun or the Earth? What came first, plants or animals? What came first,
language or reason? What came first, logic or math? What came first?
All your answers are educated guesses. The better your education, the
better your answers. Education is knowledge. The more knowledge
available the better the possible education. The better the education,
the more reliable the opinion. Education is a function of effort and
age. In general, the older you are the better your education and the
more reliable your conclusions.
Young people today study at a higher level of education earlier than we
did when I was young. For example, I first studied algebra in 9th
grade. My daughter is learning the same thing at 7th grade level. I
took logic in my first year in college. My son took symbolic logic in
6th grade. I studied philosophy in my second year of college. My son
had it in 8th grade. And so on and on.
Now regress mentally in time 2000 years and estimate the probability
that the witnesses of the assumption of Christ really did see the body
of a man rise up physically into the space above the Earth as is
believed by Christians today. Then, ask yourself: What is true. What is
not true? What is TRUTH? What is more credible, that Jesus did come
back to life and rise up into heaven or that the witnesses lied? Have
you ever heard any human being lie? Have you ever lied yourself? Go
figure.

Timmay says: Im presently reading Saint Thomas Aquinas, and a little
Henry David Thoruae. I think ill stop with this posting bussiness...
and put more of my free time on educating myself. ill probably still
check my topic now and then, but i dont think this is helping. Even
though some realy good commonts have been made to me, i seem to be
rambling my same old opinions and hearing the same old same old.

Timmay says: Ive often been told that my opinion was less because my
age was less. My step mom often trumpeted that. But i noticed through
quistioning her that her opinions never changed from when she was my
age. I know of grownups who did change thier opinions, protastants
turning catholic and vs. All my family nearly is no longer the same
belief as they were when i was born. But i dont know that age is the
advantage as much as thinking. i have thought greatly over things (ive
read a good deal), thus i feel at times i should have the right to tell
that fat bitch to shut the **** up. But that would work against itself.
i dont know why i said that. Ive enjoyed your post and others... ill
probably drop in every once in a while.

Nathannail says: It is more experience and knowledge than age. There
are people with much age and little experience, little knowledge and
little wisdom, just as there are relatively young people with great
understanding and more experience than some who are older than they.
There are those with much knowledge who have not digested that
knowledge and have achieved no wisdom.
Reading as much as possible, science, philosophy, literature,
psychology and history, will at least give you the basis to learn how
to learn what you need to understand and judge.
An open-minded, questioning, curious young person is far better off and
more valuable than a close-minded, self-satisfied person of any great
age.
There is much to learn, even for us older ones. Learning never stops
unless a person refuses to continue learning.
Watching observing people as they go about their business, as they
interact, as they talk and get angry and get happy and do what they do
is a wonderful form of learning. And always, learn to observe yourself
as you do others, without too much judging and anger and resentment.
