Re: DAWSON COLLEGE SHOOTING - apparently, 2 or 3 suspects got away

I feel sorry for everyone involved, the shooter included; the girl that
died, the people in critical condition and all the injured...what did
they do? Nothing. They just came to school and got shot for NO
REASON. It's insane. It could've been you or me...It really is
senseless.

The shooter, well, he was obviously seriously disturbed. It's tragic
that with all the psycho-social services available today, he didn't
find a path towards help. He probably didn't even know something was
wrong with him, and if he did, he surely didn't know what could be
done, and was lacking social support.

I think it's important for US to take responsibility when possible. A
person like Kimveer has no one to guide him: his family is probably the
cause of his emotional issues, and his friends are probably of a
similar outlook thus, he has no one to turn to for a more healthy
perspective. If you know someone like that, who's depressed and says
they hate everyone, someone who's withdrawn and angry, try to talk to
them.

Although it's not DIRECTLY our responsibility, if we can help, we can
ASSUME that responsibility, if it means preventing something like this
from occurring, if it means drawing someone out of the darkness they're
confined to.

In the end, it really was senseless: people who weren't responsible for
his suffering were penalized, and he lost his life when, with the right
help, he could've had a great one.
