Anti-US Media Subverts US - Nordic Heritage?

Can it be possible that a nation be strapped with a news service and
media that is antagonistic to the interests of the people of the
United States?

Can it be that the news media be used to propagate goals and
interests of a foreign entity? Can the schools of journalism be
breeding grounds of drones who are employed to subvert any self
assertiveness within the United States? Can it be that the tools that
broadcast news can be the tools to whip our people into submission?

I first ran across the use of media as propaganda when reading a
Japanese daily. The headline read "The positive influence of early
rising being discovered by the Japanese". It described how a small
group of people were attempting to rise early and follow Ben
Franklin's "early to bed, early to rise" principle.

Good for the Japanese, I thought. I was glad to have read something
that helped me become a better person. I marveled at this as the
very next day I read of alarms raised in the press of the dilution of
the Japanese language.

I still read the Japanese dailies primarily for their science and
technology section. It seems that the Japanese are fertile in
creativity and come up with odd and even quirky innovations like
photocopiers that can take Japanese originals and print out English
translations.

It occurred to me that if the news service can edify it must also
be capable of corrupting.

Our own news outlets warn us of issues with our society. There is the
semi quarterly obligatory alert on obesity: aka "Americans are
becoming fat!" alert. I say such alerts are welcome if it persuades
some folks to lose weight.

Then there is the education alerts: aka "Americans are falling behind
in Math" alert. Such alerts are welcome too. There is the "eat
healthy" alert, the "dating tips" columns, the more subtle "species x
is dying out or being replaced by an exotic Chinese variety" alert.
There is the "military overspending" alert, and the "falling
recruitment" rate press release. There is the "rock star/movie star"
is suffering their excesses or engaging in excess alert and so on ...

Some of the above alerts I even like. It is important to have
journalists serving the truth and filling the roles of warners and
prophets for our nation. What then caused me to think that our media
had an agenda that was antagonistic with that of the United States?

I was browsing the library shelves when I ran into two volumes on the
Vinland maps. As a background "Vinland" is the name "America" was
known by (as discovered by Leif Ericson) and
before some Italian decided we should all call everything after
Amerigo Vespucci. The power of the Italian is astounding! as
evidenced by the oddity that is America.

It is odd that a majority Nordic Protestant Christian English folk
should call themselves after Mr. Vespucci instead of Leif Ericson.

There were two volumes of the maps which guided the Scandinavians to
this new world.

When I observed two volumes describing the early discoveries I was
ecstatic. I grabbed the first volume and opened it only to find this:
an article published by the Washington Post decrying the Vinland maps
as a "hoax". It was dated February 1974.

Someone had glued the news clipping in 1974 in a library in Virginia.
What else has been compromised since then? If the area was
compromised since 1974 what else is corrupted in 2007?

Someone had carefully glued the clipping to the inside cover of the
book. I was so incensed that I took out my pocket knife and carefully
scraped away the paper clipping (it was difficult to remove). To
sound alarmist, someone is infiltrating our libraries and attempting
to glue falsehood to the truth. Who are these bold vandals? Someone
who doesn't want our people to remember or learn? Some entity with an
agenda antagonistic to our people- someone who got plenty of help
from the Washington Post.

Why would the Washington Post print articles decrying the use of the
Vinland maps? What use could there be of permitting our people to be
dissolved in the heritage and name of Mr. Vespucci? Ought not the
rest of the world be cleansed and renewed by our simplicity and our
beauty as opposed to letting the baroque and ornate and exotic
overwhelm our sanctuary? What gives some people the right to decide
that we should subvert our identity to promote a trans continental
Italian one?

Now I am not Nordic and I am not even an American but I think every
immigrant and visitor ought to side with the people of the United
States: and those people I have discovered are certainly not the
Italians. There are Italians who love us and have become full fledged
Protestant Christians but the people of the United States are
certainly not Italians. It serves our interests more if there was a
clear distinction between us and the rest of the folks in Central and
Southern parts of the continent. Does it not? After all if we are to
share that which attracted the multitudes of immigrants to the US
should we not have some way of preserving and distinguishing our
offering?

I was reminded of the times when I did stumble onto other books there
was something else lurking in the shadows, always.

When I was picking up a copy of the "Protestant Ethic and the Spirit
of Capitalism" - a book most supportive of the United States I
noticed someone had conspicuously placed a copy of the "Catholic
Ethic" by a journalist by the last name of Novak. Now I knew that the
book was out of order by the serial numbers and someone had
deliberately placed that book next to Weber's. But why? Was it to
comfort the Catholics so they may not be tempted to embrace the faith
of the country? Was it to mislead or subvert the truth? Can Weber's
work ever be overshadowed by such petty folk? I hope not.

Then I recalled the recent Times magazine article that
urged "Americans" to re evaluate their inability to worship the
Virgin Mary. This exhortation was on the front page. Incidentally
Time-Life is the same institutional which instrumental in
spearheading a a campaign against McCarthy. I believe that the end of
Mccarthy was the beginning of the turbulent sixties and seventies
and ... so on. That is what we bought for silencing him.

If a journalist is sworn to serve the truth are they not supposed to
be impartial
and unprejudiced in their presentation of "truth"? Are they not
supposed to
wear anti septic white gloves, white coat and rational expressions
when
delivering a factual message to the people? Or should they be
participating
in airing charged opinions in the name of serving the truth?

Perhaps the activity of our propaganda machines explain the question :
Why and how are a people able to remain unassimilated and
antagonistic to the larger majority? Not only do large majority of
them remain unassimilated our "bastions" of information are
antagonistic towards us and propagate what Knox suffered for and
Elizabeth fought against. Are we under some sort of occupation? Did
we lose some war that I am unaware of?

This is our fault. This is the fault of those who neglected Ireland
and France and subsequently lost it. This the fault of those who
today see England dividing into Scotland and England and who have
abandoned Northern Ireland. We are apparently carrying on that
tradition. We are incapable of assimilating a people who are now
claiming majority. Instead we are good at antagonizing the small,
alert and combatant but vocal minorities (like the good Jewish
people). This happens whenever the Baptist Church announces
that "Jews are hell bound and ought to be converted to Christianity".

People who are few in number are always harder to assimilate
primarily because they are conscious of it. People who are numerous
can always spare a few. It is not noble to pick on the few.

What will people call this desire for assimilation? Frankly it scares
me sometimes when I am in a minority community. I fear for and look
with sorrow upon the people who are different. The true minorities
who are under 5% or so break my heart. The Amish are adorable and so
are the Jews and the Muslims and the Chinese. Sometimes I wonder why
should they be assimilated at all? It would be criminal to change
that nice and soft spoken Amish girl (except to make her more
perfect).

But then I console myself with this: there ought to be a threshold
over which a group ought not to rise. This threshold should not be
breached and the residents and founders ought not to be drowned. If
the day comes when the founders and people of the land are
outnumbered then it would be sad. If that happens then we are not
really in love with what we see around us.

What do we see around us: hopefully we are witnessing to a large
degree (over 90%) an English speaking Nordic folk who attend simple
Dutch churches ensconced in flower beds and who have no fear of
conforming to some "norm" set by idolaters. On top of that if we must
be diverse perhaps our country folk could learn German.

Hopefully we are not seeing a swarthy folk attending the Notredame
above the 5% threshold. We ought to love what formed the land and the
people and their faith no matter how different and flawed. Our
instruments and industries ought to side with us rather than becoming
witting or unwitting tools propagating a most hurtful propaganda.
