Will you use the seat of government to silence me?

I replied to your above post. I explained that I will never use the ISA
for this purpose because there are other avenues to seek legal recourse,
like I may sue you for defamation, which I think is the simpler method of
recourse.

Let us not argue about the reasons for Najib not wanting to do this
because he has a history of tangkap basah, is corrupt, etc.... All these
are like known hidden secrets, but theoretically unproven, so we leave it
be. But the recourse that is simpler and straighforward would be for
Najib, his wife, or any of his aggrieved agents to sue RPK for
defamation, which is what it is, and then apply for a court order to put
the blog on hold for the duration of the trial.

And in the meantime, if RPK cannot prove his words truthfully and
accurately in court, then he will lose that civil case and then criminal
proceedings can follow shortly, to put him behind bars for malicious
character assassination. I think that this should be the proper sequence
of action in this matter. Let RPK be out on bail. If he disappears, and
is seen shopping with his wife and the Thaksin family in London, then the
Govt has a good reason thereafter to put everyone in ISA, because the
reason now is very clear why the ISA is used on people like RPK, because
they are a real flight risk.

I think I have a good idea why the ISA was used against RPK, and all tat
I'm saying is, if you are a person who is honest, morally upstanding and
discharges your duties as a civil officer properly, then you have nothing
to fear. I see fear written all over the faces of a few faces, with/when
the ISA order was put out on RPK. I am against this from day 1.

I won't use the ISA against you for sure, since I like reading what you
write here and more importantly, I don't see how what you write is a
national threat ( apparently the favorite theme to put someone in ISA
these days. " For their own safety " was probably a 1 off reason that
will probably not be used again for a long long time, sic ).

However, there are unhappy people who have the powers to put you and I
away for no reason, at their whim and fancy, so unless you live in
Malaysia like I do, practising caution and care when you write, well,
it's important. There are many ways to say the same thing, and RPK did
not exercise that kind of care in his writings, imo. He was too
confrontational, but there's no reason why he should be detained in the
ISA, for sure.
