Most likely it's now melted and reformed into round metal rods, due for
shipping to some factory for CNC machine work. At RM8 per kg at scrap
price, I'm wondering if it's already gone.
I don't know how bad luck is going to befall the person(s) who took the
statue for melting, if that's what they did. They just hit a windfall of
at least a few hundred bucks, courtesy of Buddha. Besides, it's just a
statue, so how is bad luck going to befall the thief ?
Bad luck here means bad karma la. It's not about the Buddha statue. It's
about the bad action of stealing which will cause more suffering or remorse
to the theif later.
The whole nation has been having bad luck since the stepping down of Tun M
as the PM. Bad luck after bad luck, and yet we are still plodding on
everyday.

"We are afraid that the thief would melt the brass for scrap metal, or
sell it
to private antique collectors overseas. Bad luck is likely to befall the
person
who took the statue," he said.
