24/09: The 'silly' news round-up for the week

The function of the Government of Malaysia has been reduced to the wholesale
stealing of the people's money. Read the Auditor General's report lately? With
the exception of a very few, the life of a Cabinet Minister and high Government
officials is nothing more than seeing how to get money from Government projects,
cronies and simple straightforward 'money in a brief case' type corruption.

Terengganu Exco member 'One Something' held a wedding reception for his child
that cost over RM70,000. The IGP Musa Hassan held a grand wedding for his child
which cost well over RM100,000. Second Finance Minister Nor Mohamed Yakob held
another grand wedding also costing over RM100,000. All these grand weddings on a
Civil Servant's salary? Hmm . . .

Dispensing with the other official duties to serve the public interest has
become a necessary irritation for these Ministers. Their brains are not focussed
on their jobs at all. Hence when they make public statements, they sound totally
silly or bodoh. Here is a round up of really silly statements by a few of them.

Of course we will have to start with the Prime Minister. Referring to the
scandalous video recording of lawyer VK Lingam talking on the telephone
regarding the appointment of judges, the Prime Minister said that only a single
person's voice can be heard despite claims that the lawyer was talking to a
judge. 'Can we believe or accept this ?' the Prime Minister asked.

Well Mr Prime Minister Bodowi, that is why we need an urgent investigation to
get to the bottom of this matter. But while you are pondering your perut buncit
can you consider the following:

The lawyer VK Lingam has not denied that he is the person in the video clip. VK
Lingam has not denied that he is indeed talking to a judge. VK Lingam has not
denied that he is indeed talking about the appointment of judges. So why not
wait and see what VK Lingam has to say before you defend him? Kan itu cara yang
kurang goblok, doh?

Then the Selangor Menteri Besar 'handchum boy' Khir Toyo has come up with a
totally brain-dead solution to the problem of people dumping rubbish by the
roadside and in vacant land lots and estate lands. Khir Toyo said the State
Government will simply confiscate all the lands where rubbish is found dumped.

Oi Jawa - ngko nggak ada otak ke? So the people who dump the rubbish will go
unpunished but innocent landowners whose lands are trespassed upon illegally
will have their lands confiscated by you? Just a couple of questions ok? Dont we
have laws which protect landowners from illegal tresspassers? Err...what do we
do with those laws? Shall we just ignore them so that you can confiscate
peoples' land?

And what if someone dumps rubbish on State land? How will the State confiscate
State land? Since the State cannot confiscate its own land, obviously you are
targetting to punish private land owners only.

Oi Jawa, your statement was seen and heard by millions of people on the 8
o'clock prime time news on Saturday - including by foreign investors and local
businessmen. You are just frightening them off with these useless statements.

But the National Land Code does not provide for the confiscation of land by any
authority just because someone else dumped rubbish on your land. Are you going
to have the National Land Code amended to suit your silly statement ? If you
cannot then why make such goblok statements? Mleped lawang mana nggok? Pintu
belakang ke ?

The whole nation is grieving along with Jazimin Abdul Jalil and his family over
the loss of their pretty little girl Nurin to a maniac. But Big Chief Dumb Ass
Nazri Aziz announced that Jazimin and his wife may be charged with negligence
for their daughter's abduction and death. Despite being a trained lawyer, Nazri
does not understand that there cannot be parental negligence when a child is a
victim of a criminal's malicious intent. Parents can be held liable for
negligence if their young child was totally abandoned and was later kidnapped or
if the child was left alone near a drain and then fell into the drain and was
swept away. But parents cannot be held liable if someone intentionally pushed
the child into the drain.

Nurin Jazimin was grabbed by a malicious murderer and dragged into a van. In
another recent case, another child was kidnapped from inside her house and
dragged into a van too. Parents are not being negligent, there are maniacs in
our midst. The Police are wasting their time and public funds going on a stupid
manhunt to track down 'demonstrators' in Terengganu. It will be better if they
employ more Policemen to track down a serial rapist and murderer who is
targeting young children around the Klang Valley.

The Court has ordered five banks to show the trail of terrorist money - hot
money - flowing through our banking system. It is totally embarrasing that the
Court was acceding to a Court request made by foreign Governments including
Australia and the United States. They seem to be better informed about the trail
of terrorist money and hot money than Bank Negara Malaysia or our 2nd Finance
Minister. (We can forget about the 1st Finance Minister).

Other than the banks, large amounts of illegal money with dubious links
(terrorist money, drug money, corruption money) from domestic and overseas
sources flows freely through the 'hawala' or money changers channels. Some money
changers are now getting into 'arranging' large loans, sourcing their funds from
such obviously dubious sources.

In another unbelievable announcement the 2nd Finance Minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop
said that twenty leading government-linked companies (G-20) are expected to see
45% growth in earnings this year compared with an expansion of 60% in 2006. Nor
Mohamed said as of Sept 14, the shareholder return of the G-20 rose 90.8%,
outperforming the KL Composite Index (excluding the G-20) by 0.7%.

These are fantastic figures by any measure. But these are percentages only. If a
GLC made a profit of RM100/= only this for year, versus RM50/= last year, that
is a 100% growth in earnings. But what is missing are the real Ringgit amounts.
Give us the real numbers ok.

We all know Proton is in deep trouble. From a RM2.0 billion cash surplus
position, Proton is now getting deeper in the red. What is Proton's share of the
45%, 90.8% and so on? If MAS has sold its buildings, its assets and its air
routes and used some creative accounting it will surely show a jump in the
percentages. But exactly how much of MAS' profits (if any) come from the actual
business of selling tickets and operating its air routes? Give us the actual
Ringgit and sen. Itu yang kita nak tahu.

Then Nor Mohamed said the Government would progressively reduce the stakes in
GLCs. There were many ways to reduce those stakes, he said, such as selling the
shares outright or via equity-linked bonds. Khazanah managing director Datuk
Azman Mokhtar said the national investment arm would now be entering a stage
whereby it would be "selectively selling off its stakes".

We know what this means. Its time for lagu nasyid.

'Assalamu alaikum Ya Patrick, Assalamu alaikum Ya Khairy.
Assalamu alaikum Ya Kamal. Assalamu alaikum Ya YTL.
Ya Habibi Ya Habibi Y Habibi'.

We are slapped on the face and yet we must endure it and say sorry for it.

We are slaves to our own nation and hapless upon acting on the culprits.

What are we waiting for? A Phoenix rises from the ashes? The return of the king
with armies of dead?

There must be some one good out there that have powers over evil?

When will the good triumph over evil?

We wait..

We need a HERO.

Mr. Old Sea Dog,

You are incorrect, how could you point out so many blunder made by our minitries
and the government agencies.

You know that will embarrass all of them to make it public. In fact, you should
point what had they done right to the public.

Could you think one, frankly I couldn't think one.
