Lulu's Reading the Budget (4)
but did not notice this. Thankfully, Aisehman did, and posted it on his blog.
THIRD STRATEGY : ENSURING THE WELL-BEING OF ALL MALAYSIANS
Inculcating Corporate Social Responsibility
105. The Government had announced in the 2007 Budget that all PLCs are required
to disclose CSR activities in their annual financial reports. Beginning
financial year 2008, PLCs will be required to disclose their employment
composition by race and gender, as well as programmes undertaken to develop
domestic and Bumiputera vendors. The private sector should leverage upon the
strength of Malaysia?s diversity by employing Malaysians from all ethnic groups.
Why just the Public Listed Complanies, PLCs?
Why not the Government Linked Companies, GLCs?
and also the universities, and schools, the whole Ministry of Education
and
the Health Ministry
and
the Defense Ministry
and the Police force?
Come on PM, don't you want to "Inculcating Corporate Social Responsibility "
within those which fall directly under your purview?
Maybe then, we'd find out if this email which has been circulating around for
some time now is true or not
(1) Out of all the 5 major banks, only one bank is multi-racial, the rest are
controlled by malays
(2) 99% of Petronas directors are malays
(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese
(4) 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by malays
(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be bumis status
(6) 0% of non-malay staffs is legally required in malay companies. But there
must be 30% malay staffs in Chinese companies
(7) 5% of all new intake for government army, nurses, polices, is non-malays
(8) 2% is the present Chinese staff in Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), drop
from 40% in 1960
(9) 2% is the percentage of non-malay government servants in Putrajaya. But
malays make up 98%
(10) 7% is the percentage of Chinese government servants in the whole government
(in 2004), drop from 30% in 1960
(11) 95% of government contracts are given to malays
(12) 100% all business licensees are controlled by malay government e.g.
Approved permits, Taxi permits, etc
Wouldnt it be a great comfort to find out that the email contains lies, lies and
more lies and that the government has been fair to all Malaysians, and would
like to check and ensure that this fairness is extended to the private sector?
