Air China Lavishes Orders On Ladish

Shares of Ladish rose more than 5% on Wednesday following an $800 million order
from Air China.

Ladish (nasdaq: LDSH - news - people ), which designs and makes forged and cast
metal components for the aerospace and industrial markets, will be supplying
parts for Rolls-Royce (other-otc: RYCEY.PK - news - people ) Trent 1000 engines.
Air China has requested Rolls-Royce manufacture these engines to fit its new
fleet of 15 Boeing 787 twin-engine Dreamliners, according to reports.

The Ladish-Air China deal also includes a maintenance agreement.

"This order further solidifies the company's earnings and cash flow visibility,"
wrote Mary Anne Sudol, an analyst at Caris & Co, in a report to investors
Wednesday.

The analyst said it strengthens confidence that the Ladish's new forging press
coming on-line in early 2008 will have the utilization to generate solid returns
early in its operating life.

Ladish's other customers include General Electric (nyse: GE - news - people )
and United Technologies (nyse: UTX - news - people ).
