Apartment Question

Hi, I used to post here quite some time ago. I'm glad to see some
familiar names still!

My husband and I are in the process of a private adoption in Malaysia.
The birth mother is due on September 13. It is a "friend of a friend"
kind of referral (reason why we are adopting in Malaysia). Our plan is
for me to travel there in late August. Due to Malaysia adoption laws, I
will be required to stay in the country for a minimum of 3 months
before I can petition the court for an adoption order -- after that,
who knows how long it will be. I will have to find an apartment to stay
in.

My question is ... is anyone familiar with Bukit Bintang City Centre
area? Plaza Berjaya? Are these nice areas, close to public
transportation? We are being quoted $2500 ringgit per month for a
2-bedroom furnished apartment; I have no idea what to expect for that
price. I'm not that choosy, but I am traveling with my mother, and she
is a bit of a pill. I would appreciate any advise. Thank you!
