Doyen of Malaysian journalism, MGG Pillai, passed away this morning at the
Universiti Hospital, due to heart complications.

Sad news. I enjoyed Pillai's writing over the years. I did not agree
with all that he wrote but I admired him. He was one of the few
Malaysian journalists brave enough to speak out about government
corruption and bungling. Rest in peace MGG Pillai.
