?We later found out that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) had continued to sell
tickets even when the prescribed number of seats had been taken up.
After
you pay and leave, they just write it all down on paper. So, naturally,
some screw ups will occur.
Not always to the detriment of the passenger though - my recent flight to
Amsterdam was overbooked in economy so they bumped (at least) 2 of us up to
business class.
They should do what they do in the USA - hold an auction at the gate - anyone
doesn't want to fly then can get free ticket on next flight, free overnight
accommodation in KLIA hotel & RM500. If no takers, make it a business class
ticket, etc.
