But the standard of Mandarin is already low. Do you think we can
compete with the mainland chinese when it comes to Mandarin
proficiency? Indeed do you think the mere 6 years of chinese education
would have enable anyone to compete with the mainland chinese?
So what then is the real motive of learning mandarin? For the love of
the motherland??
