Question for Hakka and MP Jerai

dear everyone,

I just come to know that in Hakka, neighbour is pronounced as
"kit-leen".

When you pronounce it quickly, it sounds like
what-do-you-call-it-MP-Jerai?

If I got it correctly, the Hakkas are the first sub-ethnic Chinese that
settled in Malaya.

Assuming that in those days the Chinese knew next to nothing about
Bahasa Melayu and used "everything thrown in" words when communicating
with the Malays, one thing could easily lead to another.

Any Hakkas to verify that "kit-leen" means neighbour?
