If the government was to ensure a level playing field for the national car,
it would died a fast death a long time ago. These politicians got no brains.
And which is precisely why proton can NEVER ever be a glokal car. The
playing field is very level overseas. Why is it that Toyota can make such a
headway in the USA and Europe? Because of the level playing field!!! Why is
proton cars up against the wall overseas??? Because who wants to buy a wira
if they can get the vios at a cheaper price???? Of course it's like a
kampung team playing against MU. So what do you do??? You drill the kampung
team to MU standard lar.!!! Don't blame the football field if you cannot
kick the ball properly.
Brainless politicians.

I from the start did not support the existence of a national car, this is not a question of "patriotism", its a matter of commonsense because our population is small, our affluence is not there and simply said, if there is no expertise to make it then just stop doing it, the concept of "leap frog" development is too fancy and childish, what we should do back in "85 is to start spending on real important and multi diversified technological knowledge and skill, such as physics and electronics engineering, once you got this everything is possible as heavy industry cant exist without the merging world of electronics innovation and creativity and this is the reason why countries like S.Korea and Taiwan who were once poor in the 1980s is now a global technological power house, Simply said when you even tried to invent a machine for manufacturing you cant leave out the electronics yourself, or else it wouldn't be a working model of true progress, Proton is a dream on a "leap frog" platform to project communal sense of success, its not a true industrial and engineering spirit working model, such is the reality of why there is so many problem with this Proton "Project" because just assembling the designs of others will not make one to become a master of the trade, there is no real knowledge going on other than some supplementary role somewhere downstream and coupled with that, the management of Proton is somewhat an extension of the political clout of the government, its time to rethink the worthwhile logic in all these before we Malaysians become living in a stressed out living standard and declining morale. ... develop only one new car. ...
