The term in English is "illiterate" - "analphabet" is derived from
French (and/or perhaps German), but is definitely not English.


I realise and accept that fora such as newsgroups are not necessarily
the best way of learning, but they can be used to learn, no? I have
noticed that some contributors are not, what one might call, the
sharpest knives in the drawer...

I have found with French that a good way to understand it was to start
to understand their satire and humour, but I'm getting ahead of
myself, I should just be concentrating on the basics.
