According to the Arab diplomat who spoke to dpa, Syria's tough stand
against France is because 'Syria is alarmed by the Arab and international
support for the (presidential) candidacy of Lebanese army chief commander
Michel Suleiman ... as a result of this Syria is concerned that Suleiman
will not be Syria's man in Lebanon and will not therefore implement the
Syrian demands like former president Emile Lahoud.'
