Aoun and his "followers" keep on dreaming. Now, they are proposing a
mechanism similar to Bkirki's to nominate a PM. The ironic thing is
that
they rejected Bkirki's mechanism for selecting the president after they
agreed in principle to it. Also, the reason why Bkirki's came in the
first
place is because Aoun divided the maronit and christian community and
fragmented. The sunnis are by an d large united. They do have a clear
leader who is already a parlaiment majority leader. Why in the world
would
they listen to spoilers who thus far have done nothing constructive.
Forget
it! Go fish somewhere else.

Hezbollah, Amal, and Aoun want
Seniora to resign.

PM Saniora has served the Lebanese well. A higher proportion of
Christians than Muslims view him positively. Aoun is not viewed
positively by anybody except Hizballah/Iran/Syria who have been on the
side of evil thus far.

However, Saad Hariri does not want. As far as I can recall,
Nasrallah, Aoun, and Berri are not Sunnis. They can't decide for the
Sunnis went to resign and impose things on them. It is easier to
impose things on the Christians because of Aoun.
Aoun and the FPM are Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah's Trojan horse so to
speak with all due respect to its partisans and the intelligence of
many of its members, but this is the reality since Hezbollah and Amal
are allied to Iran and Syria, so the FPM is not doing the Christians
any favours. It is kind of ironic that the Christians are in this
situation, and not the Sunnis. For example, on SCL many people were
hoping that more Sunnis would oppose Syria. Well, now that they do,
many of the Christians were pulled away by Aoun into a camp that is

That is has caused immense damage to Lebanon's model of coexistence at a
very perilous time. But, we do have a sizeable Christian faction, Sunnis
and Druze who are united and share goals of democracy, independence, and
freedom. The parliament is the place to chnage things and not the street.
Aoun and Hizballah can burn tires, block streets, force merchants downtown
to go out of business but they will not break the resolve of the majority.
It does not matter if Iran/Syria and Hizballah assasinate people etc.,
their violence has not changed anything for two years and it will not
change anything. Aoun says that the presidency can go vacant for a while
even a year. Well, if that is his goal, the majority does not agree with
him and he will have to accept a new president despite his objections.
Soon, we will have a new president whether he likes it or not!

pro-Syrian. It is very ironic and sad. It is basically the Sunni
elements for a change representing in majority the forces of
democracy, liberalism. Hezbollah may attempt to try to divide
the Sunni elements to make themselves stronger. I don't think it
will work that well.
I think Hezbollah likes a divide and conquer approach in Lebanon, but
it won't work.
It will fail..- Hide quoted text -

If you are so confident that you know
how people in Akkar, Tarablos and Beirut think then why resort to
filthy language. If we go by the polls,
Seniora's popularity has increased. If we go by the last election,
without the necessary votes Future wouldn't have made it where it is
today. So, frankly,
you don't know what you are talking about clearly, and the last
election in Metn showed that Aoun may not be held in such high regard
there since Maronites were not voting for him basically. We don't
know what exactly would happen if elections were held today, but if
the polls are any indication of anything Aoun has lost ground and
Hezbollah has lost a little and still retain overwhelming support....
