no I meant I didn't notice this thread before I posted something
similar, I read the posts and I agree, but I don't think sleiman is a
done deal yet. the biggest loser out of a sleiman presidency is
michel aoun, many if not most of the army folks will flock to the new
center of gravity in sleiman if he becomes president and aoun's
political weight will be compromised on the christian scene, sleiman
is also unlikely to accept coexisting with a strong aoun presence in
the next government. so the sleiman candidacy as openly marketed for
by the march 14 group may be a last ditch effort by them to corner
aoun and force his hand to accept someone else, but they will be
ignoring his destructive suicidal tendencies so if they're bluffing we
may all be screwed equally in the end.

nassib lahoud with 50%+1 is the only sovereign choice, appeasing
syria's agents in lebanon as jumblatt called for means all the
sacrifices since rafik hariri (and since way before hariri obviously)
have been for nothing.
