If I only knew...Since we know that there can't be formal peace
agreement between the countries it's much more complicated to reach
any kind of armistice.
What about something like an Israeli-Lebanese committee for non
violent border? Such committee could agree that nothing will be
achieved by using violence across the border other than loss of life
and environmental damages. Under this simple rationale, the committee
should strive to maintain the border quiet, and promote collaboration
on border related activities, such as mine cleaning, reforestation,
etc.
All ethnic groups living on both sides of the border should be
represented in this committee. Committee expects all residents of the
region to get to know and familiarize with the communities on both
sides of the border
The committee should also recognize the special situation of the
Palestinians refugees in Lebanon and support their effort to find
short term relief, and a long term viable solution accepted to all.
Just dreams...
