If Lahoud is forced to step down, so should Nabih Berri. This so called opposition of leaders who were once as complicit of Syrias crimes in Lebanon as Lahoud is now, should not be absolved either.
Not to defend Berri.. but Berri is elected by a large constituency post-liberation. Who elected Lahood? Occupation parliament. When? During occupation. Berri and Lahood don't equate. As long as a constituency keeps re-electing Berri, who are we to negate the will of the people?
Until a post occupation constituency elects Lahood to something, he's gone as soon as his ill-begotten term is over (or he is found complicit in murder, i.e. resigns or is impeached).
Speaking of impeachment, an event to watch: the appointment of new higher constitutional council judges who could end up trying Lahood. One of the judges is Lahood brother. Lahood wants him named president of that higher judiciary council. Talk about conflict of interest. I know Lebanon is small and it's a cliche that everyone knows everyone but come-on, enough cronyism?
