i fully concur with you that the laonok can help the old muonglao move
forward with the right policy. the Lao PDR has to take the
initiatives, one of such is a true national reconciliation. some of
us laonok don't believe in this idea and keep saying that the Lao PDR
has opened up so much already. opening up and a national policy of
reconciliation are not the same.

now on thanouxay's ambassadorial post at geneva, i have a feeling that
there's a power play going on at the Lao PDR's MoFa. he probably gets
eased out so that somebody who's in favor with the current foreign
minister can come in and play a role. just a guess.

It is not a small number, in fact it is the majority of our
generation. Those who were educated in Laos and left as refugees and
now retiring and wishing to contribute to our homeland. In total we
have life experience, professionally, know how and finance.
